MANILA- President Rodrigo Duterte has reappointed Catalino Cuy as chairman of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), the agency that crafts policies and strategy on drug prevention and control.

Duterte signed Cuy’s reappointment papers last Tuesday according to a DDB statement.

A member of the Philippine Military Academy Dimalupig class of 1981, Cuy was first appointed DDB chairperson in 2018.

“His reappointment assures us that the programs laid out will be pursued using the whole of nation approach in addressing the country’s drug problem,” DDB Executive Director Earl Saavedra said in a statement.

A retired police director, Cuy’s first government post under the Duterte administration was as acting interior secretary in 2017.
