The Kuwaiti government is willing to allow investigators from the Philippines to join the investigation of the death overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Jeanelyn Villavende, in the hands of her employer, Kuwaiti's Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah said.
This after Philippine officials Chargé d’Affaires Dino Lomondot, Undersecretary Edwin Bael and Secretary Abdullah Mama-o of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on OFW Concerns of the Philippines
discussed the impending total deployment ban to their country after the incident.
Mama-o, in a statement released by the Philippine Embassy, also lauded the actions of the Kuwaiti government to bring justice for Villavende, including the immediate arrest of her employers.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry is expected to release the full reports of the police investigation and autopsy on the case soon.
Both countries also agreed to reconvene the the joint agreement for the OFWs they have started since 2018.
