Residents and tourists in Baguio City bundled up early Tuesday morning as the City of Pines recorded its lowest temperature so far this year at 10.4-degrees Celcius.

Baguio experienced cooler weather at around 5 a.m. due to a stronger northeast monsoon, state weather bureau PAGASA told ABS-CBN News.

The northeast monsoon brings winter winds from mainland China, so parts of the country tend to experience part of the cold from the Siberian region, PAGASA said.

Baguio's coolest temperature was at 6.3-degrees Celcius recorded in January 18, 1961.
