MANILA - The chief of the Philippine National Police, Director General Ronald dela Rosa, said journalists were not being monitored, rejecting the claim of a police beat reporter.
"Hindi naman kayo kalaban," Dela Rosa told reporters at Camp Crame. "I categorically deny na may effort ang PNP to monitor or conduct background check to media."
(You are not our enemy. I categorically deny that the PNP has made efforts to monitor or conduct background check on the media.)
A member of the PNP Press Corps claimed recently that several individuals had asked about her personal information in her barangay.
Dela Rosa urged reporters to seek his help if their security is threatened, especially by police officers.
