MANILA - The Philippine National Police (PNP) reshuffled 12 of its ranking officials on Thursday following the recent retirement of some senior officials.
PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos said the reassignments were based on the assessment of the officials' performance on the job.
"This reassignment is based on the assessment in the performance and how the officers can contribute to the thrust of the PNP for 2018," he said.
Among the movements include Police Director Noli Taliño's return to the Special Action Force from the Directorate for Human Resources and Doctrine Development.
He will be replaced in the latter office by Police Director Cedrick Train, who comes from the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Western Mindanao.
Police Director Noel Constantino from the Directorate for Police Community Relations will take over Train's tasks.
Meanwhile, former SAF Chief Benjamin Lusad was moved to the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations Southern Luzon.
Southwestern Tagalog Regional Director Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor switched positions with Chief Supt. Emmanuel Luis Licup from the Directorate for Operations.
Chief Supt. Edward Carranza from the Health Service will be transferred to Cordillera while Central Visayas Police head Chief Supt. Jose Mario Espino will be transferred to Northern Mindanao.
Lastly, former Cordillera Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Francis Elmo Sarona will now lead the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management.
Sarona took the place of Police Director Augusto Marquez who retired recently.
