The Department of Justice (DOJ) has issued an immigration lookout bulletin order for a policeman who has been linked to the abduction and murder of South Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo.
The DOJ issued the order today against SPO3 Ricky Sta. Isabel, saying the policeman may attempt to flee the country to escape charges that may be filed against him in connection with Jee's disappearance.
Immigration officers are now tasked to watch out for Sta. Isabel and contact the Philippine National Police (PNP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and other law enforcement agencies if they see him trying to get on a flight to another country.
Sta. Isabel is allegedly part of a group of policemen who abducted Jee under the guise of an anti-illegal drugs operation in October last year. The policemen allegedly demanded and got millions of pesos for Jee's release but Jee was never found again.
The NBI today confirmed that Jee was killed and his remains cremated.
Sta. Isabel, who is assigned to the PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Group, surrendered to the NBI on Monday and denied the accusations.
The PNP, meanwhile, said it has already placed the other policemen linked to Jee's abduction under restrictive custody.
