MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte has approved a one-time gratuity pay for job order and contract of service workers in the government.
Duterte signed Administrative Order No. 20 on Jan. 10, which grants a maximum of P3,000 as gratuity pay to job order and contract of service workers. The order was only made public Thursday.
“Granting a year-end gratuity pay to JO (job order) and COS (contract of service) workers is a well-deserved recognition of their hard work,” the President said in the order.
The President, however, did not specify when workers could avail of the bonus but noted that his instruction was effective “immediately.”
Under the President’s order, all job order and contract of service workers who have rendered at least 4 months of service by Dec. 15 are entitled to a gratuity pay not exceeding P3,000.
Those who have rendered at least 3 months of service but less than 4 months, meanwhile, can receive up to P2,000 while workers with at least 2 months of service are entitled to a P1,500 bonus.
Workers with less than 2 months of service can receive a maximum of P1,000.
The gratuity pay covers all job order and contract of service workers in national government agencies, state universities and colleges, government-owned or –controlled corporations, and local water districts.
Local government units were also encouraged to do the same.
Last year, the President granted a Service Recognition Incentive worth P10,000 to all civilian and military personnel of the executive department.
