Solidified volcanic debris from Taal volcano's ash explosion caused roofs and houses to collapse in Barangay Buso-Buso in Laurel town in Batangas.
The roofs of some of the houses caved in due to the weight of volcanic ash that hardened like cement. Trees have also wilted and roads are now covered with mud after the ash explosion.
Taal, a famous destination among locals and tourists, spewed a towering ash cloud that covered parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, on Sunday afternoon.
The ash also killed tilapia in fishponds, a top source of livelihood of the town, according to an earlier report by its Mayor Joan Amo.
