BUTUAN CITY- An honest mall gardener has returned a clutch bag accidentally left behind by a shopper.
In January 2, 79-year old Eliseo Oliverio boarded a car and accidentally left behind his clutch bag containing P62,000 and several identification cards.
Thankfully, 31-year-old Jessel Cupin, who was the duty gardener at that time, opted to find the bag's real owner. He spotted the unattended clutch bag on top of a faucet near the garden.
Cupin waited for hours for the owner to return and later identified the owner by looking at the IDs inside the bag.
When Oliverio returned, Cupin personally turned over his clutch bag.
To thank him, Oliverio rewarded Cupin with P2,000.
The Butuan City Government passed a resolution commending Cupin for his exemplary and admirable character of honesty and duly expressing the appreciation of the City Government of Butuan through a reward commensurate to his act, worthy of emulation by every citizen of the city.
