'I never identified legal groups as front of CPP': Joma calls Albayalde a 'big liar' 1

MANILA - Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria Sison on Tuesday slammed Director General Oscar Albayalde after the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief claimed he identified legal groups as front organizations of the communist movement.

"Albayalde is a big liar. I never identified or enumerated any legal organization as a "front" or facade of the CPP. The language is entirely that of the un-intelligent witch-hunting police dogs like Albayalde," he said in a statement.

"I have always referred with respect and accuracy to legal organizations adhering to the line of national independence and democracy as legal democratic formations independent of the CPP," he added.

In a press conference Monday, Albayalde claimed Sison identified legal groups, such as Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT), as front organizations of communist rebels.

"These were all mentioned by Joma Sison as their front organizations," he said. "This did not come from us or me or even from the military. Pronouncements ni Joma Sison 'yan eh. You look at the Youtube, it's all there."

Albayalde's remark came after ACT condemned the alleged profiling of its members in different schools in various parts of the country.

The clip, uploaded by user "akosiharry," shows Sison narrating on the supposed Philippine revolution.

"At any rate even when there are the forces of armed revolution, there are the legal democratic forces in the Philippines," he said.

He identified ACT as part of the legal democratic forces.

In his statement, Sison blamed President Rodrigo Duterte for the alleged witch hunt on teachers, lawyers, journalists, and human rights advocates, among others.

"He is a rascal who has nothing to offer to the people but mass murder and mass intimidation in addition to his brazen acts of puppetry and treason, corruption and plunder and foul language and mendacity," he said.
