MANILA - The Supreme Court announced Tuesday the suspension of work in courts at the Philippine capital on Thursday, Jan. 9, due to Traslacion or procession of the Black Nazarene.

Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta ordered the suspension of work in the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and regional trial courts and metropolitan trial courts in the city of Manila.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno earlier cancelled classes and work in offices of the city government to make way for the annual procession, which draws millions of devotees in the belief that the image is miraculous.
