MANILA—The Bureau of Customs intercepted a parcel containing P200,000 worth of kush and liquid marijuana at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City Monday.
The parcel, which originated from California, was declared containing a pair of shoes and chocolate. Instead, authorities seized 4 packs of suspected kush and 10 cartridges of liquid marijuana.
The scent of the package gave away its content, authorities said.
"Previous apprehensions of marijuana were observed to have the same scent raising suspicion that the same was present in the parcel," the bureau said in a statement.
The alleged consignee from Sampaloc, Manila was arrested as the person received the parcel.
The suspect will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
