Provincial bus companies that do not have proper pick-up and drop-off points should "group together and find a common terminal" to comply with the government's "nose-in, nose-out policy," Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) general manager Thomas Orbos said Friday.

The "nose-in, nose-out policy" mandates all provincial bus companies to ensure that their buses will not queue outside terminals along EDSA when loading and unloading passengers.

He said bus companies can find and share the upkeep of common bus terminals outside EDSA while the government is still ironing out the construction of a terminal in the southwest part of Metro Manila.

Under MMDA Resolution 16-06, "violators will be issued a Uniform Ordinance Violation Receipt for obstruction and disregarding traffic sign with corresponding penalty or fine."

The policy also prohibits provincial buses from plying the stretch of EDSA from Timog Avenue to P. Tuazon in Quezon City every weekday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
