MANILA (UPDATE)—The remains of the second overseas Filipina worker killed by a wayward driver in Singapore arrived in the Philippines late Thursday night.
Relatives of Abigail Danao Leste as well as staff members of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration received the body at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 Friday.
Leste's family traveled for more than 10 hours from Aparri, Cagayan just to claim the remains of their loved one.
Leste's mother Laila Somera urged the government to file charges against the still unnamed driver responsible for the incident.
The family plans to immediately take Leste’s body back to their hometown.
On Wednesday, the remains of Arlyn Nucos arrived at Clark International Airport in Pampanga.
Nucos and Leste were hanging out at Lucky Plaza, a popular shopping center along Orchard Road, when they were hit by a car over the weekend.
Two other domestic workers, Arceli Nucos and Egnal Limbauan, remained in hospital while Laila Laudencia and Demet Limbauan have been discharged. — With a report from Fred Cipres, ABS-CBN News
