Fastcraft passengers stranded in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY – Around 200 passengers were stranded after the first trip of Oceanjet fastcraft bound for Bacolod City was canceled Tuesday morning.

This, after the Philippine Coast Guard suspended all trips of fastcrafts and RORO vessels due to bad weather.

One of the stranded passengers, Miguel Isolan, was scheduled to return to Dumaguete City today after vacationing in Antique. He chose to stay in the terminal to wait for the weather advisory.

The family of Angela Fat was also stranded at the port. They were bound for San Carlos, Negros Occidental after celebrating New Year in Iloilo City. But instead of waiting in the terminal, they opted to stay at her son’s house in the city proper.The PCG canceled the trips at 5:30 a.m. as public storm warning signal number 1 is hoisted over Negros island because of tropical depression Agaton.
