Injuries caused by firecrackers reported in Manila hospitals

MANILA—Sixteen firecracker-related injuries have been reported in a number of Manila hospitals as of 11:11 p.m., Tuesday, according to the city's public information office. 

Santa Ana Hospital took in 7 patients, while Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center attended to 4 and Ospital ng Sampaloc 3.

Ospital ng Tondo and Ospital ng Maynila took in 1 each.

Earlier, Manila Police District Chief Police Brig. Gen. Bernabe Balba urged the public to use other noise makers to avoid being hurt by firecrackers.
