MANILA - A 10-year-old boy was hit by a stray bullet during New Year's celebrations in one of the capital's suburbs and was in stable condition after surgery, authorities said Monday.
The boy was playing with his sibling in Caloocan City when the bullet hit the right side of his torso and exited on the left side, according to his mother, Malou Gaces.
The wounds showed that the boy was hit by a bullet, according to Dr. Mark Anthony Arias of the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center.
The boy will undergo a second operation on Wednesday to check his internal organs, doctors said. -- report from Lyza Aquino, ABS-CBN News
