MANILA, Philippines -- Three people were killed and five others injured after a passenger bus crashed in Negros Occidental on Tuesday afternoon.
A Vallacar Transit bus, which came from Bacolod City and was bound for Negros Occidental, crashed into houses along the highway of EB Magalona Town at around 1 p.m. after it tried to overtake a cab.
Witnesses said the bus failed to overtake the cab and fell off the road after it got blocked by a truck coming towards it.
The fatalities were identified as Florida Pelayo, Gaspar Pelayo Jr. and Jillian Lamis.
The injured victims were identified as Geraldine Lamis, Wilma Sales, Johanna Delfin, Geraldine Pelayo and Gabriel Pelayo.
Meanwhile, Josh Martinez claimed that the bus he was driving crashed after the cab swerved to his lane.
