ZAMBOANGA CITY - An alleged member of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) tagged in the killing of a barangay chairman and a 10-year-old girl in 2013 has been arrested in Lawingan, Barangay Labuan, Zamboanga City.
Police Chief Inspector Raymond Sanson said the suspect, identified as Benhar Abdul Tuknol, a native of Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte, was arrested Friday afternoon.
Tuknol was charged for the killing of Allimuddin Quilla, village chief
of Cuspian, Zamboanga del Norte, and a 10-year-old girl.
Police said the house of Quilla was peppered with bullets by the group of Tuknol in July 2013, killing the two victims.
The suspects went into hiding following the incident.
Police consider Tuknol as a high-profile suspect due to his connection with the MNLF operating in Zamboanga del Norte.
He was immediately brought to the Zamboanga City Reformatory Center due to security concerns.
