MANILA – Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the removal of billboards around the city urging him to run for president in the upcoming 2016 polls.

In a press conference held on Saturday, Duterte emphasized that he is not interested in running for a higher post, saying he is already content in being the mayor of Davao City.

“Remove all the billboards, 'yung mga ‘Duterte for President’ tanggalin niyo 'yan… I do not like it. I do not want to be a hypocrite… I will never ever dream of what I cannot be,” he said.

Duterte also shared his plans of retiring from politics at the end of his term. Duterte, however, said only his daughter Inday Sara is capable of being his successor.

“It’s not for political dynasty na sinasabi nila, wala kami niyan... But si Inday can carry on as mayor. I will retire after my term,” he said.

Duterte cited his health condition as a reason why he plans to retire from politics. – from a report by Rodirey Salas, ABS-CBN News Davao
