TACLOBAN CITY - The Task Force Bantay Dagat in this city  released two hawksbill sea turtles which were turned over to their office by Dionisio Jabagat, a school principal of Panalaron National High School who happens to own a fish cage in Salcedo, Eastern Samar.

According to Jabagat, the sea turtles  were caught in his fish cage.

He decided to turn over to the turtles to authorities so that they will be able to release them to the sea.

One sea turtle measured 39 inches long and  31 inches wide while the other was about 40 inches long and 34 inches wide.

The voluntary turnover of sea turtle was well appreciated by the Task Force Bantay Dagat.

Noel Ligtas, chief of Bantay Dagat Tacloban, hawksbill sea turles are endangered species and should be protected.
