MANILA – The governor of Camarines Norte has apologized to his family and constituents over the controversy involving his sex scandal photos.
In a speech before his supporters, Governor Edgardo Tallado asked for forgiveness over the furor caused by the scandal.
Tallado said he still wants to fix his marriage with his wife, Josefina. He also apologized to the woman who was captured in the leaked photos kissing him.
The governor also asked for a stop to the spread of the scandalous photos and video, even as he promised that he will continue his work as the province's governor.
Tallado's camp said the governor is seeking the help of the Department of Justice in identifying the person who leaked the photos. The governor's camp believes that a political opponent is behind the leak.
The scandal involving the governor broke out after his wife, Josefina, was reported missing.
Josefina later surfaced, saying she hid out of fear for her life. She said her husband accused her of leaking the photos online.
She said the woman in the photo is her husband's alleged 24-year-old mistress. "Siya po yung bagong kinalolokohan ni governor," she said.
