MANILA - Some members of the Davao City Council and other supporters of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte are following the lead of his daughter, Sara Duterte-Carpio, by shaving their heads in support of the older Duterte's presidential candidacy.
Among those who shaved their heads "for change" were Councilors Al Ryan Alejandre and Danilo Dayanghirang. Duterte's aide, Christian Go, also shaved his head.
Inday Sara Duterte on Wednesday posted a photo of her new look on Instagram (IG) with the caption, "Nagpa upaw nalang ko samtang naghulat #Duterte2016 #kalboparasapagbabago #NohairWecare bisan walay kwarta, bisan way makinarya, bisan mapildi #justDUit"
The post translates to, "While waiting, I decided to shave my head. #Duterte2016 #kalboparasapagbabago #NohairWecare. Even without money, even without machinery, despite the risk of losing #justDUit"
Last Monday, Mayor Duterte apologized to his supporters because he has decided not to run for president in 2016. He said he will consider running for reelection if his daughter won't run for the same position.
"I believe my destiny is to end years and years of public life in the service of Davao City and every Davaoeno. Thus, if Inday Sara agrees to run for mayor, I will retire at the end of my term in 2016. If she does not, the option to run again for mayor is on the table," he said.
