MANILA – A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck off Masbate on Wednesday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake's epicenter, was located 9 kilometers east of Masbate town in Masbate Province. The quake struck at 10:37 p.m.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, struck at a depth of 13 kilometers. It was felt as an intensity IV quake in Masbate City.
The quake is not expected to cause serious damage to properties.
