MANILA, Philippines - The widow of the late DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo said she is ready to enter politics if it would mean unity among Liberal Party members.
Atty. Leni Robredo, who is chairwoman of the Liberal Party in Camarines Sur, is being pushed to run for a congressional seat in the province's 3rd District.
She has yet to announce her final decision.
On Friday, Naga Vice Mayor Gabby Bordado announced he is no longer pursuing his congressional bid to give way to Mrs. Robredo.
If she runs, her possible opponents in the congressional race are Atty. Nelly Villafuerte, wife of incumbent Congressman Luis Villafuerte Sr., and former Solicitor General Anselmo Cadiz.
