LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – A task force has been created to investigate the killing of a radio broadcaster at his home in Sorsogon Thursday night.
Senior Superintendent Ronaldo Cabral, Sorsogon police director, yesterday said the probe team is composed of members of the Sorsogon police and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
Radio dzMS blocktimer Teodoro “Tio Todoy” Escanilla was having a drink with an unidentified guest at the family’s residential compound in Barangay Tagdon in Barcelona town when he was gunned down.
Escanilla, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital.
Five bullet shells for an M-16 rifle and three for a .45 caliber pistol were recovered at the scene.
Escanilla anchored the “Pamana ng Lahi” program every Saturday. He was also the spokesman for Karapatan-Bicol and chairman of Anakpawis in Sorsogon.
