MANILA, Philippines – Another suspect in the Maguindanao massacre has been arrested, a police official said Thursday.
Sahid Yamadel, also known as Jun Aliman, was arrested by police in Barangay Amay, Kidapawan, North Cotabato, according to Chief Superintendent Benito Estipona, head of Special Investigation Task Group Maguindanao.
Yamadel was arrested in a hospital where he worked as a security guard. He is the 96th suspect to be arrested for the gruesome murders last November 23, 2009.
Police nabbed him by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by the Quezon City regional trial court (RTC) Branch 221.
Estipona said Yamadel was working for the Ampatuans when the massacre was carried out.
He added about 100 more suspects in the massacre remain at large. – report from Edwin Sevidal, dzMM
