Six private school students in Lucena City have tested positive for influenza A(H1N1) virus, a local health officer said Tuesday.

Dr. Wilfredo Frondosa, Lucena City health officer, said two of the infected students were confined in a hospital in the city and the other four were under home quarantine.

Frondosa said at least 72 classmates of the six infected students are now being monitored by the city health office after manifesting flu-like illness.

The doctor said the school, which he declined to identify, has ordered a suspension of classes to prevent the spread of the disease. With a report from Ronilo Dagos, radio dzMM
