MANILA, Philippines – Around 300 families were affected by flashfloods in Banaybanay, Davao Oriental, prompting local officials to rescue stranded residents.
According to municipal administrator Edric Mamukid, 6 villages remain submerged in deep floods caused by nonstop rains.
Authorities said the floods as of Wednesday morning were waist-deep.
Residents now worry over the floods' effects on their farms.
Authorities have yet to determine the total cost of damages caused by the floods.
