Albay eyes record for largest human 'no smoking' sign

Around 15,000 people form a human 'No Smoking' sign at the Bicol University grounds in Legazpi City on Friday. The city is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the biggest "no smoking" human logo.

MANILA, Philippines – Thousands of residents gathered at the Bicol University football field in Legazpi City, Albay to form a giant human “no smoking” sign.

The event aims to set the record for most number of people to form a “no smoking” logo.

Organizers said 13,892 people participated in the activity, which took 5 hours to complete.

Aside from gunning for the Guinness record, the group also aims to spread awareness on the negative effects of smoking.

An anti-smoking ordinance in Albay prohibits smoking in public areas and vehicles. -- Report from Jose Carretero, ABS-CBN News Bicol
