MANILA – At least 30 houses made of semi-concrete materials and a bridge in Barangay Kimadzil, Carmen, North Cotabato were damaged due to the 5.7 magnitude earthquake that struck the province on Saturday night.
Six persons were injured due to falling debris in their houses. They victims were identified as Roslyn Labrador (13), Roel Labrador (15), Rika Labrador (9), Yunisito Labrador (50), Jori Galopar (28), and Gabriel Ampalia (5).
All of the victims were brought to Kabacan Medical Specialist for treatment but they were also discharged since they only sustained minor wounds.
Meanwhile, part of the Mutian Bridge, located in Barangay Kimadzil connecting the town of Carmen and Bukidnon, collapsed by three to four inches.
North Cotabato Governor Lala Mendoza told ABS-CBN News that the town experienced 15 aftershocks.
Mendoza said a team from the Department of Public Works and Highways is already in the area to assess the damages.
The total cost of damage has yet to be determined as of posting.
Mendoza said she will give financial assistance to families of the victims and owners of damaged houses.
