MANILA (1st UPDATE)– Jinkee Pacquiao, wife of Filipino Fighting Congressman Manny Pacquiao, will be proclaimed the winner of the vice-gubernatorial race in the Sarangani province even though canvassing of votes has just started.

Even before the start of canvassing, Eleanor Saguigit, Jinkee’s opponent for the position of vice-governor, had already conceded.

Canvassing in Sarangani started at 7:00 am.

According to partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections’ Transparency Server, Jinkee had 100,715 votes with 87.95% of election returns processed as of 6:34 am.

Saguigit only had 23,917 votes.

In a text message to ABS-CBN News, Jinkee said she is thankful for the new challenges for her and her family.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao is expected to win the congressional seat in the lone district of Sarangani after running unopposed.

Some precincts in Sarangani encountered trouble in transmitting results last night, but the issues were quickly resolved by the technicians of the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines. Report from Jay Dayupay, ABS-CBN News SOKSARGEN
