Gloria Arroyo set to be reelected Pampanga rep

MANILA - Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo looks set to be reelected as Pampanga 2nd District congressional representative, based on latest partial and unofficial results results in the Monday elections.

Arroyo, who is under hospital arrest and couldn't personally campaign, had 116,291 votes as of 10:26 p.m. Monday, with 64% of election returns processed.

Her closest opponent, the Liberal Party's Vivian Dabu, had only 12,819 votes. Arroyo ran under the Lakas-CMD.

Candidates leading in other congressional races in Pampanga, as of posting, are:

Kambilan's Yeng Guiao (74,385 votes) over the NPC's Francis Nepomuceno (55,527) in the first district;

LP's Oscar Rodriguez (88,314) over NPC's Aurelio Gonzales Jr. in the 3rd district; and,

NP's Juan Pablo Bondoc (67,596) ahead of NPC/Kambilan's Jerry Pelayo (55,947).
