The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said efforts to rescue three hostages held captive by militants in the southern Philippines continue.
AFP spokesperson Brigadier General Restituto Padilla made the statement over a week after militants executed a Canadian man when their multi-million dollar ransom demands were not met.
In a video circulated Tuesday by the site intelligence group that monitors Jihadi websites, captives from Canada, Norway and the Philippines pleaded for the Canadian and Philippine governments to heed the militants' demands.
Government troops have killed more than a dozen gunmen so far in efforts to free the hostages.
