MANILA - The lone survivor from the 55th Special Action Company (SAC) of the Philippine National Police - Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) involved in the Mamasapano operation said he is hurt by reports that he killed non-combatants.

PO2 Christopher Lalan, who survived by diving into the river and hiding behind water lilies and vegetation for 11 hours, said all those he killed were Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) fighters who were also trying to kill him.

The MILF has claimed Lalan killed four members who were sleeping in a mosque as well as a civilian on January 26, the day after the Mamasapano encounter when a ceasefire was already in effect.

Lalan, however, claimed there was no mosque in the area and that all those he killed were armed.

"Anong mosque, wala namang mosque dun.

-- Reports from ANC; Dhobie de Guzman, ABS-CBN News Northern Luzon
