Radio anchor killed in Bohol

MANILA - A radio anchor and commentator died after he was shot by a lone gunman in Tagbilaran City, Bohol Saturday morning.

Maurito Lim of DYRD-AM was shot outside the radio station, according to Tagbilaran City Police Chief Inspector George Vale.

Vale said the victim had just parked his vehicle when the gunman, on board a motorcycle, approached and shot him with a .45-caliber pistol.

The bullet hit Lim on the left portion of his jaw and pierced through his right ear.

Lim was rushed to the hospital and underwent immediate operation. He later succumbed to his wounds.

Lim was known for his strong commentaries against politicians and other personalities.

Authorities are investigating the footage of the CCTV camera in the area for the possible identification of the gunman.
