MANILA, Philippines -- At least seven people were injured in two separate accidents along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) on Saturday morning.

The first accident involved four people injured after a collision between a passenger bus and a taxi along the northbound lane of NLEx near the Valenzuela exit.

Taxi driver Regalado Siasat said they were about to exit the expressway when their vehicle suddenly got hit by a SanTrans bus.

Three of the victims, identified as Toto Almada, Analiza Garbida and Gerald King, were passengers of the taxi.

One still unidentified passenger of the bus was also wounded in the incident.

The driver of the bus, identified as Victor Caringal, immediately fled the scene.

Meanwhile, a driver and two passengers were wounded after the ES Transport bus they were riding slammed into a dump truck along the southbound lane of NLEx.

Bus conductor Percival Mola said the bus, which came from Cabanatuan City and bound for Pasay City, was traveling along the Cloverleaf Interchange in Balintawak, Quezon City when the dump truck suddenly swerved to their lane. -- Report from Zandro Ochona, dzMM
