Fire hits industrial area in Taguig City

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Fire hit an industrial area in Barangay Bagumbayan in Taguig City at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Authorities said the blaze started when an unidentified object exploded inside the laboratory of the DIC Company, a paint firm.

Even its adjacent tissue factory, Sanitary Care Products of Asia, was also burned down.

According to the local fire department, the cost of damage is estimated at P20 million.

As of writing, authorities are still fighting the fire as they raised a Task Force Charlie alarm.

Some residents already left their homes just in case the fire gets bigger.

Authorties are also conducting a probe to determine the real cause of the incident. – From a report by Dennis Datu, DZMM
