MANILA - Fire broke out in a commercial building in San Antonio, Quezon City Monday.
A DZMM report said the fire at the three-story Dexter Dawn Corporation in San Antonio Street has reached the third alarm past 11 a.m.
The fire was confined to the building's third floor where mattresses and blankets are stored.
Firefighters had to use breathing apparatus while trying to penetrate through thick smoke at the area. To enter the establishment, they also had to saw off steel grills from the windows, while standing on top of ladders outside the building.
The building's caretaker earlier reported a lighting problem at the third floor, which was left unfixed.
Authorities suspect faulty electrical wiring may have caused the fire.
Earlier today, a fire razed six house along Commonwealth Avenue in Barangay Fairview.
Ten families lost their homes to the blaze that damaged P100,000 worth of properties.
The fire, which reached second alarm, started at a room leased by Alfred Molino.
Firefighters are still investigating what caused the fire. -- With reports from Dennis Datu, radio dzMM
