Five people were injured after a road accident damaged seven vehicles and a coffee shop along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City on Sunday.

Dino Pastrano, among the five injured in the accident, said a truck was speeding on the southbound lane of Katipunan Avenue when it hit a motorcycle, which then hit the Volvo car he was driving.

The motorcycle was sandwiched between the truck and the car, and the vehicles then rammed into four other vehicles - a Ford Ranger, a Honda CRV, and two Starex vans - and onto the first floor of Bo's Coffee Shop.

The accident left the first floor of the coffee shop in a wreck.

Michael de la Torre, driver of the motorcycle, was critically injured and was rushed to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center.

Aside from dela Torre, four others were injured - a guard and a customer of the coffee shop, and the two occupants of the Volvo.

The driver of the truck was then taken into custody by officers of QCPD Station 9. With a report from Jeff Canoy, ABS-CBN News
