MANILA - A 66-year-old jeepney driver is filing a physical injuries complaint against a son of Batangas 3rd District Rep. Sonny Collantes after he was allegedly mauled during a traffic altercation in Pasig City Tuesday.

The incident was caught on video.

Orlando Garcia said the assailant, lawyer King George Leandro Antonio Collantes, confronted him in the middle of San Rafael St., Bo. Kapitolyo and accused him of cutting his lane.

He said Collantes cursed and hit him several times.

The Collantes camp has refused to issue a statement when sought for comment by ABS-CBN News.

In the police blotter, Collantes claimed Garcia grabbed his phone while he was using it, causing him to accidentally hit Garcia's eye.

The video clip, however, shows the congressman's son repeatedly punching Garcia who was inside his jeepney.

Apart from filing physical injury charges, Garcia also plans to file a complaint against Collantes at the Department of Social Welfare and Development because his 9-year-old grandson, who was present during the mauling, was traumatized by what he witnessed.
