MANILA - Singer Jim Paredes filed a complaint before the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Division over an alleged death threat tweeted to him.
Paredes said the threat came from a certain Rex Vincent Tecson after the APO Hiking Society singer criticized Vice President Jejomar Binay.
The tweet is no longer on Tecson's timeline but other users posted a screenshot.
On his Twitter page, Tecson described himself as a lawyer, civil engineer and the so-called prime minister of the socialist republic of the Philippines.
Paredes, meanwhile, said he will not be cowed by this incident and will continue to air his political commentary online.
He said he received information that Tecson works for the city of Makati.
