Red rainfall alert raised over Metro Manila, Rizal

MANILA -- State weather bureau PAGASA raised rainfall advisories over some parts of Luzon due to Tropical Storm ''Mario''.

In its 6 a.m. advisory, PAGASA raised the Red rainfall alert (torrential) over Metro Manila, Rizal and Bulacan.

PAGASA said areas under the Red rainfall alert experienced more than 30 millimeters of rain in the past hour and the downpour is expected to continue in the next two hours. Severe flooding is expected in low-lying areas.

Meanwhile, Orange rainfall alert (intense) was raised over Laguna.

Areas under the Orange rainfall alert experienced 15-30 millimeters of rain in the past hour and the downpour expected to continue in the next two hours.

Yellow rainfall alert (heavy) was hoisted over Cavite, Batangas and Quezon.

Areas under the Yellow rainfall alert experienced 7.5 – 15 millimeters of rain in the past hour and the downpour is expected to continue in the next two hours.
