MANILA, Philippines - A newly born baby boy was found inside a trash bin of a Gulf Air flight that arrived Sunday morning.

Based on investigations, the baby was born aboard the flight on its way to the Philippines from Saudi Arabia.

Employees of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 consider the boy a “miracle baby,” after being abandoned by his mother.

Authorities are still checking the identity of the mother, who left Gulf Air Flight 154 immediately after landing.

The baby, whose nationality has yet to be determined, was immediately brought to the ramp clinic of Terminal 1.

According to the resident doctor, Maria Teresa Agores, the baby is healthy, weighing around 3 kilos.

Airline staffers pitched in to buy clothes and other essentials for the baby boy, who was named George Francis based on Gulf Air’s airline code “GF”.

The baby was brought to the Department of Social Welfare and Development Center for Children in Quezon City at 2:00 this afternoon.
