MANILA – At least 26 people were arrested in two separate jueteng raids in Parañaque City on Wednesday evening.
"Caught in the act nagbobola ng jueteng, nagrerebisa at nagtitipon-tipon. Sana matiyempuhan natin financers kasi identified naman namin," said Superintendent Benjamin Elenzano Jr., chief of the special operations of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – National Capital Region.
Elenzano said a certain Alan Manuela, a retired policeman, runs the jueteng operations in the area.
Police recovered several jueteng paraphernalia from the two raids. Some of the suspects were already arrested in previous raids. – report from Jacque Manabat, ABS-CBN News
