MANILA, Philippines – The body of a 15-year-old girl was found in a vacant lot in EDSA-Quezon City Friday morning.
Authorities believe that unidentified victim was raped before she was killed.
They suspect that young men who inhale solvents, commonly called “rugby boys”, were responsible for the crime.
Witnesses also said the vacant lot was where a group of teenagers usually hang out.
"Pagpasok namin may nag-iinuman diyan, mga binatilyo. Sabog sa rugby,” said one witness
Empty plastic bags, believed to be drug paraphernalia, were recovered from the scene.
The victim's hands were tied and she had wounds on her head. She did not have any underwear.
There are no clues to the victim’s identity, aside from tattoos on her body.
Police suspect that the perpetrators personally knew the victim.
“Maaaring kakilala ang may motibo dito," said Chief Inspector Rodel Marcelo of the Quezon City Police District. -- Report from Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
