MANILA, Philippines – Over 100 women were caught after policemen raided several beerhouses in Caloocan City, following reports that minors were working in those establishments.
Deputy Police Chief Supt. Ferdinand Del Rosario, the assistant chief of police for operations in Caloocan, said they wanted to make sure that potential law offenders were not among the patrons of the beerhouse.
Del Rosario said that in the past year, they have rescued several minors who were working in the establishments.
The raids were also geared toward verifying the permits of the beerhouses.
Police are also investigating “VIP rooms” in the beerhouse which may have been used as prostitution dens.
Aside from police, officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the city’s Department of Public Safety and Management were also involved in the raid. -- Report from Zandro Ochoa, DZMM
