MANILA (UPDATED) - Authorities suspended Saturday classes in several schools in Metro Manila due to heavy rains and the high risk of flooding.
The following suspended classes on Saturday:
- University of Sto. Tomas (UST)
- University of the Philippines (UP) Manila
- National University (NU)
- University of the East (UE)
- Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Sta. Mesa
- Arellano University
- Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila, FEU EAC & FEU Makati
- San Beda College of Law; San Beda CAS
- De La Salle College-College of Saint Benilde
- De La Salle University Taft, Makati, Ortigas Extension
- Philippine Christian University - College of Law
- Centro Escolar University (CEU) in Mendiola
- St. Scholastica's College
- National Teachers College
- San Sebastian College of Law
Marikina City Mayor Del de Guzman also suspended all classes in the city on Saturday.
Weather bureau PAGASA on Saturday raised red warning signal over 9 cities due to the high risk of serious flooding. PAGASA advised residents in low-lying areas, especially those beside rivers and esteros, to evacuate. -- reports from dzMM; ANC
