MANILA, Philippines – Two hybrid buses of Green Frog Zero Emissions Transport are now plying several streets in Metro Manila.

The bus operator’s founder Philip Apostol said the two units began plying routes after being given franchises by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

The buses will pass through the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Taft Ave. station in Pasay, Sen. Gil Puyat Ave., Kalayaan Ave., C5 and back.

The buses are air-conditioned and can seat 27 passengers. One way fare costs P15.

Apostol said the buses are environment-friendly because the units emit less pollutants. He also said 15 buses are expected to be operational by the end of the year.

The buses will ply the streets of Metro Manila from 5:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. -- Report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
