MANILA -- Ex-policeman and former Pagsanjan, Laguna Mayor Abner Afuang held Thursday yet another protest action against China, as the Asian giant showed no let up on its reclamation in the South China Sea.
Afuang drove around the streets of Manila with the flag of China hoisted over it. The Chinese flag was defaced with an offensive English expression.
Hoisted above the Chinese flag was a smaller Philippine flag.
A siren was also placed above the car, playing nationalistic Filipino songs.
Afuang has made similar public stunts in the past targeting China. Last year, he burned a Chinese flag to protest China's ''bullying'' of the Philippines.
He also burned a Taiwanese flag after the Taiwanese government imposed sanctions on Manila following the death of a Taiwanese fisherman in 2013 in a clash with the Philippine Coast Guard. – report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
